Making Life Better Conference

Making Life Better Conference CENI

CENI brought their jelly babies and thoughts about nurturing and assessing Collaboration for PHA to the Inaugural Making Life Better Conference in Craigavon in June.

Brenda from CENI delivered a break out session that challenged delegates to think about Collaboration.

Our Evaluation Consultant & Learning Facilitator, Brenda Kent delivered a break out session that challenged delegates to think about why collaboration is important, what benefits it brings, what conditions are needed to generate collaborative impact and how can you assess whether a collaboration is working or not.

Making Life Better 2012–2023 is the ten-year public health strategic framework. The framework that has six strategic themes – once of which is Collaboration, provides direction for policies and actions to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Northern Ireland. It builds on the Investing for Health strategy (2002–2012) and retains a focus on the broad range of social, economic and environmental factors which influence health and wellbeing. It brings together actions at government level and provides direction for implementation at regional and local level.

It also seeks to create the conditions for individuals and communities to take control of their own lives and move towards a vision of Northern Ireland where all people are enabled and supported in achieving their full health and wellbeing potential and to reduce inequalities in health. The Northern Ireland Executive is committed to creating the conditions for individuals, families and communities to take greater control over their lives and be enabled and supported to lead healthy lives.
